The Bullycide Project

Royal Oak Schools, Optimist Club of Royal Oak, Support Our Youth Task Force & Royal Oak SAFE Present The Bullycide Project on March 19, 2014 at Royal Oak Middle School.  The Bullycide Project is based on the book Bullycide in America, compiled by Brenda High and written by mothers who have lost a child to suicide due to excessive bullying. The Project tells the true stories of ten individuals who committed bullycide, as well as personal stories of members in our cast on subjects ranging from isolation to cutting.Read more »

Electronics and Scrap Metal Drive

The RO Environmental Advisory group is hosting a scrap metal and electronics drive on Saturday, May 3, 2014, 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the Department of Public Service Yard (1600 N. Campbell). If available, we will have compost, chips and a paper shredder. Nothing is too big or small - bring it all!

Holistic Health and Wellness Expo

Sponsored by the Royal Oak Community Coalition, Holistic Health and Wellness is being held March 8th at Royal Oak High School from 10:00 - 3:00. The expo features, 50 practitioners to meet individually with attendees, 16 min-presentations and several exercise classes All to help people become familiar with alternative modalities to reduce pain and discomfort with less reliance on addictive prescription drugs and to incorporate lifestyle choices that promote healthy mind, body and spirit.. SOAA Art Therapy

Join the South Oakland Art Association (SOAA) and Common Ground for an Art Therapy presentation at the March 3, 2014 meeting at 7 pm. Common Ground will be giving us an overview of what services they provide and how art fits into their programs. Over the past several years SOAA has established a partnership with Common Ground. Royal Oak Symphony Orchestra Spring Concert

Saint Patrick's Day Parade in Royal Oak

The Norman O'Brien Division of the Ancient Order of Hibernians will host the Saint Patrick's Day Parade in Royal Oak on Saturday, March 8, 2014. The parade is an event to honor and celebrate Irish family traditions to include demonstrating Irish pride and heritage. At 11:30 a.m., the parade of floats, clans, step dancers, bagpipers and community groups leaves Royal Oak Middle School, 709 N. Washington, and goes south on Washington to Seventh Street. St Patrick's Day Parade Fundraiser
