"Citizen Scientist” is is a new program that will help us with research within Tenhave Woods. With your help, we will be searching for and counting Giant Swallowtail butterfly larva on Prickly ash in order to get information on their population. We may also continue our search for Shumard Oak which we believe is in Tenhave but we haven’t located yet. If found, this would be the furthest north any have been found in the state. Say goodbye to Summer and hello to Fall with a free concert featuring the Motor City Brass Band. The doors open at 4:00 pm and the concert begins at 4:30 pm at the Leo Mahany / Harold Meininger Senior Community Center, 3500 Marais Ave - East of Crooks/North of 13 Mile Rd. The Concert is to be held outside, so bring a chair or lawn blanket. In case of rain, the concert will be held in the Community Center. Refreshments will be available for purchase.

There will be a free Computer and Electronics Recycling Event on Saturday, October 4th at the Royal Oak Department of Public Service located at 1200 N Campbell Rd, Royal Oak MI 48073. This event is open to the public. During the event, they will be accepting TVs, computers, consumer electronics, home office equipment, and large kitchen appliances at no charge! (Excluding items containing Freon (ie. fridges), biohazards, hazardous waste, liquids of any type; fluorescent bulbs or smoke detectors).

Royal Oak Ice Arena will be doing a Customer Appreciation Day Saturday, July 26th between 12:00pm and 3:00pm. All events during this time will be free of charge and the doors are open to the public! There will be an Open Skate event, a New Edge Figure Skating Club event, and two sessions of Sticks & Pucks for the hockey players (13 & under and 14 & over age groups).
