Rogers and Hart Music Presentation

Stu Johnson, Royal Oak resident and frequent speaker at the Royal Oak Public Library’s Jazz Series, returns Tuesday, September 14, at 7:00 p.m. to premier his new presentation based on the music of Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart. Rodgers and Hart wrote the music and lyrics for more than 30 Broadway plays and movies, creating some of the greatest songs in musical history. Many became jazz standards and are still played and heard today, like Blue Moon, My Funny Valentine, and Manhattan. Stu’s presentation includes a short biography of the pair, an introduction to several of their plays and movies, and recorded versions of the songs during a slideshow of the stars who performed them. The program will be held in Friends Auditorium at the Royal Oak Public Library, 222 E 11 Mile Rd. Registration is suggested.
